COURTS TO ISSUE ‘DATA ON hin
Certificate Necessary for
Jobs Made Available "Under New Law.
: Machinery is being set up at the Court House to issue birth certificates by court decree under special provisions of a new law passed by the 1941 Legislature. : The law was passed hecause of the requirement of all defense in-
dustries for birth certificates of ‘any person applying for employment. Many applicants were turned down because of their failure to get the certificates from the place of their birth. In many counties birth records of persons older than 20 are not available.
Prepares Applications
The law provides that any per- . son: who has lived in a county .for one .year may file an application for a certificate in Circuit or Superior- Courts which can grant a certificate upon hearing evidence. County Clerk Charles R. Ettinger said he will prepare the application forms but said “it will be several weeks before they are ready.” The applications must be published in a -newspaper at the expense of the applicant. There will _ be no court costs.
