Three Recor Set on Coast
The first annual Los Angeles coliseum relays, designed as a domestic
version of the canceled Olympic
games, produced three world’s rec- . ords—in the two-mile relay, the high jump and .the four-man mile. More than 500 college, junior college and high school athletes’participated in the meet Saturday. Les : Steers of the University of Oregon “belly-rolled” over the bar at six feet, 107% inches. The University of California relay team turned the two miles in 7:345; to better the world mark. of '7:35.8 established by a picked Amerfjcan team in London in 1936. ~ Four youths from Western Junior|’ College Conference of California established a 3:18.6 record in the -four-man- mile.
