AFTER ALL THESE many years, what should we find coming forth fomortow but a new version of that old prizefight-crime picture, “Kid This time the title reads “The Wagons Roll at Night” and
seheduled for the Circle.
Perhaps the most salient angle is, though, that the movie marks
return of sultry Sylvia Sidney, long-time-no-see in Hollywood,
via has been spending ker time on Broadway (“The Gentle People” ith Franchot Tone, for instance) and undoubtedly her return to the an will prompt some lofty salvos from those who took to Sylvia h hey saw her in “An American Tragedy.” Collectively speaking, its like |

Parson's Back
A LONG time ago a Slim Time bliin was cast in a “Tobacco Road” and since then he has been using the fact as one of his qualifications. But such historical data is not needed, once one sees Mr. Timblin do his vaudeville act. Mr. Timblin is funny with no embellishments needed. If I remember correctly, Slims act is the black-faced parson who
| commits marriage upon two of his
flock. the bride, a big hefty speci men and the bridegroom, a meek,
little guy. The act is pure unadulterated slapstick. Other Lyric attractions besides Mr. Tomlin and band, will be the Starlets, six femme dancers in here from Cocoanut Grove in los Angeles: Gil and Bernice Maison, comedians, and Miss Jean Ruth, WFRM “Talent Time” winner and recently in opera in St. Louis. The movie, “Lady From Louis jana.” probably would have been called “Lady From New Orleans” (for thats the locale), but Universal came out with “The Flame of New Orleans.” necessitaling a change. Republic Studios is complaining to the Hays office that all their titles are being swiped and will Mr. Hays Kindly do something about it?
Bango! Flasho!

Covers Three Wars at Once” Thats the headline topping the exploitation material “Affection= ately Yours,” the Indiana attrac tion By way of explanation, the wars are delineated as follows, “No. 1, that argument in Europe; No. 2, with a brunet bliss-krieg, and No. 3. with a strawberry blond bombExclamation points are
of the three “wars,” but if you don’t mind, we'll just leave them off here. Anvway, theyre hard to make with these new typewriters which the paper has just installed Surely you'll get the idea if voure told that the No. 1 war is the war, the No. 2 is waerie Oberon (wife of the foreign correspondent) and the No. 3 (sirawberry blond) is Rita Hayworth. Okeh?
For England!
“THAT HAMILTON WOMAN" probably will do as much for the cause of the British as all the speeches Mr. Halifax can make in a jug-full of dedications and press conferences. This is the story. unincumbered by current hot words, of one of England's greatest sea heroes, Admiral Nelson. His grave remains a pilgrimage point for visitors to the Isles and his name itself is still an inspiration to the men to sail the seas for England. Lord Nelson had a private life, however, and that's what “That Hamilion Woman” concerns, his attraction to Emma Hart. She became the Lady Hamilton and perhaps Lord Nelson's principal reason for desiring the solace of a home on land. Acted by Hollywood's most distinguished couple, “That Hamilton Woman” is a story of England in happier days.
