3000 Yearly Set as Goal; Army Will Provide Planes, Supplies.
WASHINGTON, May 14 (U. P). ~Arrangements have been oompleted under the Lease-Lend Act to train 3000 British pilots annually in the United States for the Royal Air Force, informed sources said today One official said that arrangement is but one phase of a broad program to bolster R. A. F re sonnel. He declined to reveal other details Ihe present plan is to have pilotcandidates come to the United States from all parts of the British Empire to take 20-week and intermediate training. Actual combat training would be received in Britain Approximately 1200 men would be in training here at one time

Brown, assistant editor, the New Albany Tribune, won the award for the feature story. The prizes were awarded in the first annual contest conducted by the organization Mrs. Thomas B. Wadelton, trade journal writer and mother of a 14-vear-old author, was the speaker. Aid Movement Hard on Tibbett
KANSAS CITY, Mo, May 14 (U. P) Lawrence Tibbett, the singer, said here that the “all-aid-to-Britain movement” should be short of giving him laryngitis. Mr. Tibbett arrived in Kansas City on the same train with Lord and Lady Halifax. His manager, Johnny Evans, said the singer could not sleep well on the Pull man car because members of the Halifax party kept moving around. THE INDIANAPOLIS School Board set a ne wrecord for brevity last night. When reports were called for, Superintendent DeWitt S. Morgan said he had none. So did Librarian L. L. Dickerson and Buildings and Grounds Superintendent J. E. McGaughey, attending his first regular board meeting. The minutes had been approved without reading and there were no communications for the Board. Finally, A. B. Good, business director, said he had a report. MISSION INSTITUTE
Missionary Education Institute opened the last of a three-day session at the Third Christian Church, 17th St. and Broadway.
More than 175 delegates from six central states are attending the Institute which is being held to train leaders in missionary education. Dr. William K. Anderson, educational director of the Commission on Courses of Study of the Methodist Church, spoke at a general assembly at 10:50 a. m. Missionaries who are in the city attending the Institute were introduced during today’s luncheon.
