Are vou planning a wedding? Do you need a trousseau which will be a knockout on a honeymoon trip, carry you all the way through the summer? Then here you are—five suggestions assembled in Hollywood, five frocks right for the honeyvmooner, vacation gadder and summer stay-at-home. 1. Useful in any frousseau or vacation wardrobe is the ensemble which can be worn a number of ways. For all around summer wear, Dorothy Comingore models a three-piece cotton ensemble. She wears a feminine peasant blouse of white pique, short enough to bare the midriff with a short swing skirt of gay Indian stripes. There is a full-length skirt of the same striped fabric. The blouse can be worn with slacks and the skirt with different “tops.” 2.Chauncer—of all people— stepped in to influence the styling of this lounging ensemble worn by Frances Gifford. The suit is made of white sharkskin with a flaring skirt on the coat. A picture of the yeomen in the Canterbury tales complete with old English lettering is painted on the coat. Lettering repeated on the sleeves. 3. For entertaining family and friends and those first important evenings “at home” the bride needs ‘a flattering frock like this navy blue sheer worn by Anna Lee, Collar and frills at the sleeves are white chiffon, finely pin-pleated and edged with Cluny lace,
is
4. For the wedding a bride might choose a softly feminine gown like this one of sheer
souffle modeled by Ginger Rogers.
Because pastels are favored for |
weddings this season, the gown is pale blush pink. The bodice is trimmed with a cascade of ruffles and a frill of ruffles is set at the shoulders of the very full sleeves with ruifles to bind the fullness at the wrists. Veil is matching pink tulle, designed to flow back over a coronet of pink camellas. The bride's bouquet is of pink camellias, lilies of the valley and maidenhair fern, tied with pink satin ribbons. The gown can be worn for summer parties later. 5. The wise bride considers her needs after her honeymoon— where she is to live, how much money she will have. This suit of navy twill, worn by Anna Neagle, would be a practical choice. The wool cleans beautifully, never sags and wears indefinitely. The classic style will be good for seasons. Revers of this suit are navy twill with stripes stitched on with white silk thread.
