Other Cars to Be Auctioned In Conformance With Legislative Measure.

The 1938 Chrysler which Seeére-

tary of State James Tucker has declined to use for the past two years will soon be put on the auction block. Fred Schick, deputy secretary of state, today notifed State Auditor Richard T. James that Mr. Tucker had no use for the automobile and asked that it be sold. The car was used by Mr. Tucker's predecessor and was turned back to the state soon after he took office. There was no law, however, which permitted the car to be sold and it stood in the state garage on four flat tires for the past two years. The 1941 Legislature passed a law authorizing the State Auditor to dispose of such property. Mr. Schick also requested Mr. James to sell a Studebaker sedan which was State Securities Commissioner. IN ARMY MATTERS

WASHINGTON, April 25 (U. P). ~The War Department was understood today to have adopted a new policy of giving labor greater voice in deciding important army matters, Authoritative quarters said that the first step in this program was appointment of David Dubinsky, président of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, to the War Department 14-man civilian board. This board will review applications for industries seeking certificates amortizing cost of defense plant expansion facilities through tax credits. Undersecretary of War Robert P. Patterson was understood to have urged Mr. Dubinsky’s appointment on the grounds that it represents a

wider public sharing of the defense responsibilities.
