Allen Hoff, 23. of 5530 N. Ninois St, died today at St, Vincent's Hospital of complications that followed an emergency appendectomy about a week ago. Mr. Hoff was graduated from Washington High School, attended Purdue University for a vear and was graduated from Indiana University with a8 B. S. in business in 193%. A: Purdue he was a member of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity. Upon his graduation from I. U. he was emploved with the H. Lieber Co., and since last fall he had been a photographer with the Allison Engineering Division of General Motors. He is survived by hic parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl D. Heff and by a brother, Earl Hoff. a member of The Indianapolis Times editorial staff Funerai services will be at 10 a. m. Mrs. Scarber, whn was 82 and had lived in Indianapolis 66 vears, was born in Lebanon. Tenn. She was a charter member of the Corinthian Church, and had been active In missionary work at the church for many years She is survived by Charies and Robert of Indianapolis.
JOHN HICKEY. KIRKLIN MONON AGENT, DIES
John Hickey, for 40 vears station agent for the Monon Railroad at Kirklin, died today at St. Vincent's Hospital. He had been brought to St. Vincent's April 18 from Frankfort, where he had received a broken leg received in an automobile accident. Physicians said his death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 69 Mr. Hickey started at the Kirklin station at the age of 17, in 1889. He retired in September, 1939. He was a member of the Order of Railroad Telegraphers. His body was sent to Kirklin for burial.
