These are the first machine guns turned out by General Motors on its $61,000,000 Government contract—and they're months ahead of schedule, according to General Motors President Charles E. Wilson, In the new new glass-walled, five-acre plant of the Saginaw Steering Gear Division at Saginaw, Mich., the guns are prepared for firing tests. Guns are being turned out at this plant and at the converted AC Spark Plug Division at Flint, Mich. Two other General Motors plants, a new Frigidaire Division plant at Dayton, O., and a converted Brown-Lipe-Chapin plant of the Guide Lamp Division at Syracuse, N. Y,,
will make machine guns. Two sizes are being produced, 30-caliber and .50-caliber, air-cooled Brownings.

Douglas Aircraft, said Donald W. Douglas at the annual s holders’ meeting, is being asked to take on about $800,000,000 worth fof orders. It will be able to turn out $100,000,000 worth this year.
