Orchard Pupils Give 'Hansel and Gretel '
ORCHARD SCHOOL PUPILS below the age of nine vears wers to be the objects of special attention this afternoon when the sixth grade of the school was to present a simple version of Humperdinck's opera. “Hansel and Gretel.” The play, to be presented at 3:30 p. m. in the school auditorium, was chosen especially for them, The sixth graders were to be assisted by the five-year-old kindergarteners. Cookies and candy were to . decorate the little house used in the stage setting Those from the sixth grade taking part were to be Jane Easterline as Gretel, Perry O'Neal as Hansel, Ned Handy as Peter, Janis Robinson as Gertrude. Ted Daniel as Sandman, Rusty Driscoll as Dewman and Elliott Jose as the Witch John Sinclair was to be in charge of properties and Fred Terry the curtain and lights. The Kkindergarteners were to be cast as gingerbread children and angels. Gingerbread children were to include Blaine Miller, Richard Ruddell, Leonard Young, Margaret Dailey, Margot Lacy and Sherrill Kay Hannebaum.
