The ink, the Secret Service | pamphlet explains, will rub off of | either genuine or counterfeit notes. | One of the first things to look at [In a suspected bill is the portrait, the pamphlet says, lifelike, stands out from the oval | background which is a fine screen of [regular lines. On the counterfeit, the eyes are dull, smudgy or unnaturally | white, the background is dark with irregular and broken lines. The seal on genuine bills has sawtooth points around the rim which are identical and sharp. On a counterfeit, different, uneven. broken off. The serial numbers on genuine bills are of distinctive style. firmly and evenly printed the same color as the seal. On the counterfeit. thev are poorly printed, badly spaced, uneven in appearance. Genuine bills are printed on distinctive paper containing vey small red and blue silk threads. Denominations of bills may identified by the portrains, as fol-! lows: Washington, $1 bills: Jefferson, $2; Lincoln, $5; Hamilton, $10 Jackson, $20; Grant, $50. and Franklin, $100.
