‘in the United States increased ap-
proximately 17 acres during the last ‘decade, the - average for Indiana dropped from 108.4 acres in 1930 to 107.3 acres in 1940, the Census - Bureau reported today. | The 1940 census disclosed that the average for the United States was 174 acres in 1940, compared with 156.9 in 1930. There was a decline in the number of farms during the 10-year period of 191,859 and an increase of - 73,736,339 in the total acreage. . The decline’ in number and increase. in acreage took place largely in the states which were stricken’ by droughts.
NEW YORK, March 6 (U. P.)— Daniel Eisenberg, who as head of a missing persons bureau says he has tracked down 100,000 missing husbands in 14 years, drew from his experience today some rules for wives who want to keep their husbands from leaving home: 1. At no time discuss money or financial matters unless the head of the family brings the matter up first. 2. Variety is the spouse of life (the pun is Mr. Eisenbergs). Make it a point to add some new knickknack to,the house once a week. 3..Don’t try to get your husband to correspond to your mood, whether gay or otherwise.
