Dorothy Jay Robinson’s interest in the English isn’t confined to her featured part in the Civic Theater's production of Noel Coward’s “Private Lives,” which opens tomorrow night. By PAUL HARRISON Times Special Writer HOLLYWOOD, March 6.—The King’s English as spoken in Hollywood, compiled with the latest Goldwyn and Curtiz variations, for your Movietown dictionary: ANESTHESIA: a Russian princess who was welcomed by Hollywood society. : BOMB: a panhandler. But stylists such as Mike Curtiz use it as a term ‘of affection: “Allo, you beeg bomb!” CELIBATE: to observe an occasion. “This is my birthday an’ I'm gonna celibate.” CHAISE LONGUE: pronounced “chase lounge”’—a houdoir couch around which the villain chases the heroine. CYNIC: wrong-doing; moral turpitude. “The Hays Office won't stand for so much cynic.” ENAMORED: having a smooth and glossy surface. “She wears so much makeup her face looks like it was enamored.” FRACTURE: part of a whole, such as % or %. ” n ”

HOLLYWOOD, March 6 (U.P). —Frederic March and his wife, Florence Eldridge will abandon Hollywood temporarily to go back to Broadway in a new Theater Guild play, “Hope for Harvest,” by Sophie Treadwell. The play will ga on tour for about six weeks before its fall opening on Broadway. Rehearsals begin in about a week.
