Plan Southport Dance

A patriotic dance in honor of Washington’s birthday will be held at 9 o'clock tomorrow night at Southport High School, sponsored by

the Girls’ Athletic Association.

Twenty Tech High School seniors Thursday will take over the staff positions of the Butler University Collegian, student newspaper, under the direction of Miss Ella Sengenberger, Tech director of publications. Botanist to Speak

Dr. C. F. Hottes, botany professoremeritus of the University of Mlinois, will speak ata meeting of the Combined Science Clubs of Tech High School March 5. His topic will be “The Southwest Desert.”

19 Submit Acts For Ripple Show

# Nineteen Broad Ripple pupils have have submitted acts for “Ripples Vaudeville” to be given March 21 at the school. Four acts and an intermission program are to be selected from the scripts submitted by Ruth Copeland, Barbara Crofts, Ann Malott, Irene McCalie, Peggy Million, Peggy Mullins, Annetta Opperman, Jo Ann Reynold, Emma Steinbach, Martha Scott, Ruth Ann Parrish, Betty Wright, Judy McCullough, Nancy Boerner, Wallie Hurt, Robert Maxwell, Jack Shepherd, Frank Stevenson and Theodore Westervelt.

CURTAIN HUNG AT CATHEDRAL

Suspended From Gym Ceiling to Improve the Acoustics.

For the first time this week, in the production “Band Fanfare of "41," Cathedral High School put to use a foyer curtain. made for the

school by girls of neighboring St. Agnes Academy. The curtain is 25 by 100 feet and was fashioned from “monk’s cloth.” Suspelidec. from the ceiling of the gymnasium, it forms a foyer in the reall and improves the acoustics of the room, Before the school received a foyer curtaiti of its own, Cathedral borrowed: Butler University's curtain. Girls who helped sew the curtain were Mary Margaret Broden, Mary Frances Ferris, Joan Connor, Mary Jane Pfarr, Pat Haney, Jean Reyers and Jo Ellen Ross.

Howe Seniors Prepare Play

Thirteen Howe High School pupils have been chosen members of the cast of “American Passport,” first senior play to be given by the school. Dairell H. Gooch, speech instructor, is diregtor of the play, which will be given April 3 and 4.
