lings. Student fliers will eat and sleep at the new building which contains a dormitory for 50. In addition to serving as a Gov-ernment-approved flying school headquarters, Col. Turner said the U. 8. Weather Bureau, now at the City hangar and the Civil Aeronautics communications station there will | be transferred to the new pbuilding, which is located south of the City Administration Building. The new structure, completed last week. contains, in addition to the dormitory, two large class rooms, hangar space for 40 planes, a service and [repair shop, control tower, and a row of “flight” offices along the struciure’s ultra-modern glass-brick front. The new Turner hangar-building will eventually be owned by the City of Indianapolis. This provision was included in the contract between the speed flier and the Works Board.

Equity $3000 Annually

The City’s equity in the new building! will accrue at the rate of approximately $3000 a year. At present there are 135 students taking primary flight training at the Turner school. In addition there are 15 students in the C. A. A. secondary flight training under the defense program, and 15 students in the flight, ground school course. Col. Turner said classes in control tower operations and aircraft and engine mechanics will begin March 1. The school also offers courses in radic and instrument flying with the Link Trainer. The Link Trainer room and one service shop will remain in the City hangar. A second service shop has been established in the new building.

Other Services Offered

Otlier services brought to Indianapolis by the Institute include aircraft sales for two types of small planes, U. S. Government approved aircrsft and engine repair, instxu-

P).— Standard Oil of New Jersey scientists have developed a “revolutionary” new method of cracking petroleum which improves gasoline quality and lowers cost of operation, company officials announced today.
