TWO GET LIFE SENTENCES
CEDAR RAPIDS, Ia. Feb. 12 (U. P.).—To avoid a mob demonstration, Judge H. C. Ring yesterday sentenced Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Bender to life imprisonment for the murder of five-year-old Ralph Kohlicek a day earlier than their scheduled trial. The couple admitted murdering the boy, Mrs. Bender's son by a former marriage, so they could inherit his $1690 estate.

MRS. EMMA HOLLIDAY DIES AT METHODIST
Mrs. Emma Goff Holliday, Indianapolis businesswoman, died yesterday in Methodist Hospital after an illness of several weeks. She was 46. Mrs. Holliday and her husband, John R. Holliday, operated the All American Bus Lines depot, 226 N. Illinois St., the :last three years. Previously they operated bus depots in Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Springfield, O.; Columbia, 8S. C., and Richmond, Va. She was born in Richmond, Va. Surviving are the husband; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Schultz, Indianapolis, and two brothers, Thomas Ballard Goff, Washington, D. C.; and Lewis B. Goff, Richmond. Services will be at 9 a. m. Friday in St. John’s Church, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
