The double ring wedding ceremony was to be read at 3:30 p.m. today in McKee Chapel of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church for Miss Jean Van Voorhees and Kenneth N. Rider Jr. of Franklin. The Rev. O. C. Miner, Louisville, Ky. grandfather of the bridegroom, was to assist the Rev. Stewart W. Hartfelter at the service. : Miss Domna Alles, organist, was to play a program of bridal airs and accompany five girls of the Franklin College Pi Beta Phi Chapter as they sang “Follow the Arrow,” “My Pi Phi Girl” and “Kappa Sigma Sweetheart.” Members of the group are Misses Jane McAnelly, Betty Bavis, Ina Claire Chappell, Frances Hougland and Martha Cook. The chapel was to be decorated with palms, cibotium ferns, sevenway candelabra and standards of white flowers. White ribbons were to mark the family pews. Uncle to Give Bride Away

Given in marriage by her uncle, Harry Wallace Dragoo, the bride was to wear white satin and chiffon. A sweetheart neckline and = short, puffed sleeves finish the satin bodice which tops a chiffon skirt. Her fingertip length veil of illusion was to fall from a coronet of braided satin caught at either side with clusters of orange blossoms. She was to carry a colonial bouquet of white blossoms surrounding a center of lavender orchids and tied with narrow streamers. ‘1 Mr. Rider’s best man was to be his brother, Jack Rider, and ushers were to be Harry W. Dragoo II, Chicago, Robert Winters, Franklin, Edward Thomas and Gerald Wadleigh. "Mrs. Dragoo, the bride’s aunt, was to wear a black crepe dinner dress, the jacket encrusted with colored beads, and was to carry a black muff with a cluster of Dresden-toned flowers attached. Mrs. Rider, mother of the bridegroom, was to wear gardenias with her black velvet.
