the Wildcats are making a serious bid to waltz away with the crowa..
But more significant than their leadership in the SIAC parade is the 4 way these Dubois boys pump points.
Last week against Bosse of - Evansville, for example, Jasper * took four shots in the first minute and made six points, In the
first quarter the Wildcats had
made 10 of 20 shots and during the whole evehing they fired 22 field goals through the hoop in exactly 60 shots for the astonishing average of almost 37 per cent. The five lads started by Coach Cabby O'Neil turned in a shooting average of 42 per cent. Who said there weren't .400 hitters in basketball. Imporsant cogs-in the Jasper goal-reaper are 200-pound Roman Pfeffer and sophomore Paul Hoffman. Pfeffer is the backboard hand, the play setter-upper, and Dubois fans boast he hasn't lost a tip this season. Hoffman is the ball-handler and sniper, and against Bosse he sank eight of 14. Jasper now has beaten Loogootee, Paoli, Huntingburg, Mitchell Tell City, Evansville Reitz, Vincennes (twice), Washington, Salem, Ftinceton, Bloomington and Evansville Bosse, while losing to Bedford, Washington (twice) and Huntingburg. Don’t let those twe defeats to the Hatchets fool you, though.! The Wildcats trimmed ‘em by 14 points in Vincennes’ New Year's Day tournament. We'll have more to tell you about these Wildcats after we see

The cast incased Moorman’s leg when, as a 12-year-old, he was fighting infantile paralysis. Moorman disregarded the cast, slipped out of bed to play backyard football. The cast was broken, his leg injured and his fight became more difficult. Two years later he was a candidate for the Batesville squad. Moorman says: “Any kid can do the same thing; I_haven’t done anything to talk about.”

By UNITED PRESS With eliminations only a few weeks off, visions of the shouting thousands in Butler Fieldhouse cheering the state basketball champs spur the leading Indiana high school teams this week-end. Three of the state’s seven major conferences already sport titleholders. Hammond Tech has cinched the Western NTHSC; Anderson, the Central and Madison the, Southeastern. Of these Madison is the only team unbeaten in league play. Hammond Tech boasted the same record before last night when the Tigers were knocked off by Gary Proebel, 39 to 31, for the second straight loss. Still punctuated with a question mark among the conférences are

Association Predicts Huge Program for City Before Spring.
The Indianapolis Home Builders’ Association expects to build more new residences this yeay than the $3,400,000 worth constructed by 27 of its members during 1940. Fred L. Palmer, publicity committee chairman, said today that because of the influx of defense workers’ and an expected spring increase in building costs, the next few months will mean greater activity than last year. He reported that association members built 279 two-bedroom homes, 94 three-bedroom residences, 44 four-bedroom houses and commercial buildings last year. Members also did $100,000 worth of remodeling work. The total amount of business done by members in 1940, which includes the above and also other brokerage business, the sale of farms and lots, amounted to more than $4,000,000, Mr. Palmer said. 1
