Do Less Ironing
As people grow more fastidious the laundry pile grows larger, but by way of compensation, less ironing needs to be done. . If sheets and towels are hung tautly on the line with even edges, they dry smoothly. Many kinds of modern underwear can be hand-smoothed too, while garments and household furnishings made of crinkle crepe require only the least bit of pressing.
Keep Comforts Clean
A six-inch band of fine linen, basted to the chin-edge of down comforters, prevents soiling the permanent coverings. The band may be 6f a narmonizing color, or white. It is particularly attractive when edged with hand-made lace or delicate embroidery. The bands have the advantage of easy washing in lukewarm suds.
