Proposed WMezsure Creating Substitute for J. ‘P.s’ Is Changed.
Times Special TERRE HAUTE, Ind. Jan. 7.— Recommendations for revision of the procedure and scope of Indiana couyts were reviewed by the Indiana Judicial Council at a meeting yesterday at Indiana State Teachers’ College, Several minor changes were made in the draft of a proposed measure creating a county system of courts superseding the Justice of the Peace end | magistrate courts, with city courts reorganized as county courts. This| measure prohably will be rewritten. . In the proposed constitutional amendment the group against including the Appellate Court along with the Supreme and Courts as constitutional courts. 2 Also reviewed was a measure providing for the non-partisan election of. judges. Attending the meeting were Supreme Court Judge Curtis W. Roll, chairman; Dean Bernard C. Gavit of the I. U. School of .Law, secretary; Appellate Court Judge Paul E. Laymon; Judge Herdis F. Clements, Posey Circuit Court; Judge Fred N. Prass, Tippecanoe Superior Court; attorneys George O. Dix, Terre Haute, and Louden L. Bomberger, Hammond. Two members .of the Council, former State Senator Jacob H. | Weiss, Indianapolis, and Rep. Glenn R. Slenker, Monticello, were unable to attend.

INJURED IN FALL Donald Mozee, 26, Glenns Valley, fell 12 feet down a freight elevator shaft at the J. C. Perry Co. 620 S. Capitol Ave. today and injured his back and hip seriously. He was taken to Methodist Hospital. Mr, Mozee is an éniployee of the com- | pany.

Kortepeter, former Marion County WPA coordinator. * ‘Kortepeter, one of five defendants in two cases. charging them with defrauding the Government by. diverting labor and funds from approved ‘WPA projects to work on privately. owned subdivisions, based his plea on his conviction last year in a similar case: Mr. Caughran’s answer denied:the allegation of former jeopardy, holding that the new case, set for trial Jan. 27, includes an entirely different set of circumstances from those in the former case.
