St. Francis Staff Member Survived by Wife and Son, Both Doctors.

Dr. Franklin P. Reid, a physician in Indianapolis 34 years and whose

wife and son both held medical de-|goyw

grees, died yesterday at his home, 2206 S. Meridian St. after an illness of one year. He was 66 and was a member of the medical staff of St. Francis Hospital. For 12 years, he was surgeon on the Indianapolis Police Department. Born | in Shelby County, he attended | Indiana Medical College, ‘graduating in 1906. He was a ‘trustee of the Olive Branch Christian Church, a member of Capitol +. City Lodge, F. & A. M, the Indiana | State Medical Society and the Indianapolis Medical Society. He retired from practice in 1939. Survivors are his wife, Dr. Carrie T. Reid, and a son, Dr, C. A. Reid, three brothers, Charles Reid, of North Salem, Alvin C. and Carl Reid, both of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Flora Turner, of Kirkland, and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Wednesday in the Olive Branch Christian Church. The body will lie in state in the church for .an hour preceding the services and burial will be in Crown Hill.

James A. Wilson

A plumbing contractor in Indianapolis fer many years, James A. ‘Wilson, died yesterday at the City, Hospital. He was 61 and lived at 847 W. 30th St. He entered the plumbing business . with the old Herman A. Goth Co. and bought the business in 1913. Since 1924 he has been a contractor on the North Side. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Seventh Christian Church and the North Park Lodge, F. & A. M. . He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Wilson, and a niece, Mrs. James Briggs, of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at 8 p. m. tomorrow in the Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary with burial in Crown Hill,

Harry S. Hoover

~ Harry S. Hoover, a lifelong resi- - dent of Marion County, died yesterday in his home on S. Tibbs Ave.,-a half mile north of old State Road 67, which had been acquired by the Hoover family from the Government in pioneer days. Mr. Hoover, who was 73, had been ill 15 weeks. ELIZABETH CLEARY IS DEAD HERE AT 74

Mrs. Elizabeth Bertha Cleary, a Yesident of Indianapolis all her life,

pital after an illness of a few days. Mrs. Cleary was 74 and for more than 50 years had lived at the old homestead, Michigan and Douglass Sts.,, which was built before the Civil War. Mrs. Cleary was the widow of Andrew F. Cleary, who died in 1913, and was the daughter of Bernard and Catherine Dougherty and a sister of the late Frank Dougherty. © Mrs. Cleary was'a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, .president of St. Bridget’s Church Altar Society, president of St. Bridget’s Council of Catholic Women of America, and past president of the Ladies’ Auxiliary to the Ancient Order of Hibernians. ~ She is survived by two sons, James F. Cleary and Douglas L. Cleary, and a daughter, Lorena Wright, all of Indianapolis, and 12 grandchildren and four great- . grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 8:30 8. m. Funeral services were to be held at 3 p. m. today in the Harry W. Moore Peace Chapel for Charles Spahn, a native of Indianapolis who died Friday in his home, 2917 E. 18th St., after a year’s illness. Burial was to be in Crown Hill. Mr. Spahn was employed by the New York Central and Big Four Railroads for 28 years, He retired $wo years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. ‘Margaret Spahn.

The wife of the last survivor of the Udell family which founded the Udell Works in 1872, Mrs. William Udell, a resident of Indianapolis 65 years, died Saturday in her home, 1156 Udell St. She was 84 and was born in Hamilton County. . Mrs. Udell was a member of the Seventh Christian Church 36 years. | Besides her husband, she is survived by two nephews, Forest Fisher of Indianapolis, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Harrison Hook, Jennings Sous, and a great-nephew, Virgil Print.
