FORMER CLUB LEADER DEAD

Funeral to Be Held Tomorrow for Mrs. Winfield Johnson at Spencer.

Mrs. Winfield Scott Johnson, a former resident of Indianapolis and a leader in women’s club activities in the state for many years, died yesterday at the home of a niece, Mrs. Eileen Bruce, Martinsville, Mrs. Johnson was a teacher in Spencer and ,Lawrenceburg. She was married in Spencer and she and her husband came to Indianapolis

where Mr. Johnson was engaged in the wholesale dry goods business. At one time Mrs. “Johnson was secretary of the State Federation of Women’s Clubs and the Spencer Club of Indianapolis, and she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church here. She served as a member of the board of directors of the State School for Girls at Clermont. At Indiana University, she was a member of Delta Gamma Sororitg She tqgok up her residence in Martinsville about a year ago. Mrs. Johnson "is survived -by two other nieces, Mrs. Dale Quillin, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Katherine Boyd, Philadelphia, Pa. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p. m. tomorrow in the Drescher * Funeral Home in Spencer and burial will be in Riverside Cemetary there.

Mrs. Stogsdill, a member of a pioneer Marion County family, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wilbur = Bonifield, 2148 Broadway. She was 80. She was a charter member of the Brightwood
