Then another. Finally a chorus of deep throats. : The dogs have got ‘something surely! ~ Youre huntin’ coon. And when you get to the tree where the dogs are lifting their throats to the sky,

A few ex-| perimental, musing yelps. Then silence. They trail without a sound so | they wen't disturb the quarry. Then they come—the real thrilling howls. But it’s too dry for ‘coon this night. A leaf or two turns over and hides the fresh spoor. The hound loses the trail. When he picks it up again, the wise ‘coon is gone. But there's that bay. The hounds are wild.
