EX-CONTRACTOR DIES IN HIS HOME
Lawrence “Haves Was 7; Services Will Be at 9 Tomorrow.
Lawrence Hayes, 4 retired contractor and a resident of Indianapolis 15 years, died yesterday in his home, 5020 Park Ave. He was 171 and a native of Dunkirk.
He was president of the Hayes Construction Co. until his retirement five years ago.
Survivors are a son, Cleutus Hayes; a brother, Joseph Hayes, and two sisters, Mrs. A. F. Smith and Mrs. James Duffy, both of Dunkirk. Funeral services will be held at § a. m. tomorrow in St. Joan %f Arc Church. Burial will be in Holy (Cross Cemetery.
Emsley H. Miller
| A messenger 47 years for the Railway Express Agency, H. Miller, a native of Terre Haute, died Sunday in his home, 803 Graham Ave. He was 71 and had been retired since April, 1936. Mr. Miller was a resident of Indianapolis 50 years and was a member of Capitol City Lodge, F. & A. [M., Capital Lodge, I. O. O. F. and 'the International Assoeiation of Retired Railway Employees and Railway Postal Clerks. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lillian Ross Miller; a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Stratman; three grandchildren, Dwight H. Miller of | Corinth, Miss., Miss Lois Stratman and Miss Jane Stratman, both of Indianapolis; a great-grandson, Joseph. H. Miller of Corinth, and a brother, William Lester Miller of | Beattle, Wash. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow in the Conkle Funeral Home. Burial will be in | Crown Hill.

VETERAN, DIES
Served in Army 11 Years: Services Set for 2:30 Tomorrow.
David Fouts, a Spanish-American War veteran who served in the U. S. Army 11 years, died yesterday at the Veterans’ Hospital. He was 62 and lived at R. R. 7, Box 130. Born in New Salisbury, Mr. Fouts came to Indianapolis in 1917. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad following his service in the Army. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Bertha

of Milltown. Services will be held at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow in the Harry W. Moore Peace Chapel. Burial will be in New Crown Cemetery.
Mrs. ‘Alice Woods
A native of Brown County, Mrs. Alice Woods died yesterday after a long illness. She was 56 and had been a resident of Indianapolis 35
years. Mrs. Woods was a former member of the Methodist Church in Brown County. Survivors are her husband, Earl N. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hazel Fowler, and a nephew, Gerald Duvall.
