He plans to return to England, but whether he has been recalled for war service is not known.

Angered at reports sweeping music eircles that his voice is permanently _gone, Lawrence Tibbett has decided to risk his vocal care-r by appearing on the Ford Sunday evening hour, Dec. 29, according to Variety. Satisfied that his voice has Be ered completely, Tibbett picked he largest possible audience for his comeback effort in further defiance of his critics, it is said. Tibbett became ‘vocally ill last May after completing a heavy opera and concert schedule and was warned by his doctors to take a og rest. Tibbett, now 44, has been a Metropolitan Opera singer since 1923. He generally is considered the greatest male singer this country has produced in this century.
