Mask and Wig Club to Present ‘High As a Kite' Here Dec. 27,

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN had his troubles back-in 1740 and he has his share of headaches in the University of Pennsylvania Mask and Wig, Club’s 53d annual production, “High As a Kite,” to be presented Dec. 27 at the Murat Theater. PTS BR aad Celebrating the bi-centennial year of the universfly, the Mask + and Wig Club chose Benjamin Franklin, founder of the institution, as the central figure of its new show. The Indianapolis appear-

ance will be sponsored by the local alumni club, headed by William C. Griffith.

In the afternoon hefere the performance, cast members will be entertained at a tea ‘dance at the Indiamapolis Athletic Club, as they were in 1937 and 1938 when the club appeared here. .A formal supper dance at the club will follow the show.

‘The production played engagements in Trenion, N. J. on Nov, 22 and in Atlantic City on Nov. 23 before opening at the Erlanger in Philadelphia Thanksgiving week. The show will visit 14 cities _as far west as Indianapolis, south to Louisville and north to Boston, The book was written by three stars of last year’s show, Louis - DeV. Day Jr., Sidney Wertimer Jr. and John Collins Parry. Clay A. Boland ahd his lyric writing teammate, S. Bickley Reichner, ' with whom he produced such hits as “Stop Beating 'Round the Mulberry Bush,” are responsib r 18 songs, some already nationally popular. The song hits de “Wasn't He a Terrific. Guy,” “High As a Kite,” “Not So Long Ago,” “Watching the’ Stars Go ‘ By,” “I'll Sing Your Praises,” “Let’s Get Back to Bach” and “Gather Your Orchids.” :

Propylaesum's Buffet Supper Is Tomorrow

After the supper, Tommy Tucker, Hollywood sound effects man, will talk on how sound effects are produced and animated cartoons made. Mrs. Edson T.
