Winter Coats Are Varied

PARIS, Nov. 27 (U. P.).—Marcells Chaumont’s winter fashion show here was reminiscent of the same excellence and originality she dise played as famous designer at Made« leine Vionnet’s, now defunct. Following the tradition of Vione net, her collection of coats was ace claimed as remarkable. Extremely large swaggers were shown beside models with ‘tight bodices and cir cular skirts, Chaumont selected beautiful {weeds and soft heavy woolens with velvety surfaces for her coats. Black grays, soft greens and various shades of brown were the prevailing colors. : : Dress coats favored high neck-

{lines and small, pointed collars. One

brown model had a double pointed collar, Swaggers usually were fas tened at the neckline by one or two buttons, % ; Chaument provided several of her coats with hoods, either for sports or formal occasions. One black afternoon coat had an interesting, removable hood which tied under the chin with wide bands of the same material and was trimmed with silver fox. / Another attractive outfit was /tashioned of copper-brown tweed, with a wide, swagger coat, tight, hip-length jacket, with small cole lar and martingale. A straight, simply-cut two-piece jersey dress in dark-brown completed the ene semble.
