Details of the refunding offer Ine dianapolis Power & Light Co. is making to holders of its present pre=ferred stock were outlined today in a letter received by stockholders. The stock will be offered on a share-for-share basis plus cash equal to the difference between redemption price of the old ($110) ine cluding accrued dividends to Dec. 31, and the initial price of the new stock which is yet to be determined. Thers will be 140,591 shares of the new 51% per cent $100 cumulative preferred stock to replace the 115,777 shares of the 6% per cent and the 24,814 shares of the 6 per cent preferred stock. The proposal, which will save the local utility an estimated $163,331 in dividend requirements annually, has yet to pass the Public Service Commission and the SEC.. .° The letter to stockholders stated the exchange offer will remain open for only three days, after which the remaining stock will be sold to the public.
