After a moment.of nonrecognition, ‘Trixie responded in kind, lic the towheaded youngster’s: face. y Sis Larry said that he had forgiven Trixie for chasing a chipmunk into a freightcar in a lumber yard near the Windsor’s home:on Oct. 8.. The dog was locked in the car accidentally and made a 14-day trip, without food or water, to New - York, where he was unloaded with the lumber and rescued by the A. S. P.C. A. “I guess you didn't mean to, did you, Trixie?” he said to the dog. “Gee, I sure am tickled to See her.” Larry, who is 14, said he first missed the dog when he was returning from school Oct. 8. She usually met him half way home, he said. “When she wasn’t there, I whistled. Then I went home,” he said.

After a half dozen letters, first written by Larry himself and then copied “so people could read them”

‘by his mother, the boy said that he

“just about, gave up hope.” Two weeks ‘after Trixie had disappeared, however, he heard from A. C. Crombie that a terrier dog had arrived with a load of lumber at the Crombie Lumber Co. in New York.

Impressed .by the boy's “efficient handling of an emergency,” Mr. Crombie made him the gift of a round trip flight to get his dog.
