WILLKIE LOSES MICHIGAN LEAD

Dickinson Also Trails as Detroit Count Turns Tide To Democrats.

DETROIT, Nov. 6 (U, P.Y.—President Roosevelt and the Democratic ticket continued to extend their lead in Michigan as additional returns from Detroit were tabulated. With 2270 of the state's 3632 precincts reported the unofficial count was: For President: Roosevelt 634,605. For Governor: Dickinson (R.-Inc.), Wagoner (D.), 603,449. For United States Senator: (1899 precincts) Vandenberg) - (R-Inc.), 461,058; Fitzgerald (D.), 398,307. The overwhelming Democratic vote in Detroit reflected the city’s industrial balloting, and the recent political fight revolving around John L. Lewis, C. I. O. president, who urged election of Willkie. Nearly all local union heads repudiated

‘Why does Phillips 66 Poly Gas start cold motors faster?

Because it is higher test .

EE Neat

. « More

volatile! Not merely higher test than other gasolines which sell at the same “price, but actually higher test than most premium gasolines which sell for 24 mote per gallon.

IMPORTANT NOTE: — This remarkable fact was proved by scientific laboratory study of 303 separate samples of 19 different premium

gasolines.

The Volatility Number (high test

rating) of Phillips 66 Poly Gas was 50 per + cent higher than the average Volatility Number of the premium price motor fuels.

Is volatility-important? Here is what the \impartial Petroleum Marketer Magazine says, August 1940 issue, page 9:

". + + the successful operation of a gasoline in an automobile engine depends more upon volatility than upon anyother factor. ”’

So, when you want faster cold-weather. starting, remember that Phillips 66 Poly Gas

is higher

test, more volatile, than others.

Loaded with «extra instant-firing elements. Ready to vaporize more quickly. Thus giving faster warm-up, and more mileage because you save the gasoline usually wasted by excese sive use of the choke with low test motor fuel,

Why don’t you have to pay extra for this

extra high test?

Because Phillips 1s the

WoriD's LARGEST PRODUCER of natural high

test gasoline. Get a load of lively power and faster starting, by stopping for a trial tankful at any Orange and Black 66 Shield.
