Retired Lumberman and Farmer Moved to City Years Ago.
James R. Vaughn, retired lumber man and farmer, died yesterday at his home, 513 E. 20th St. Apt. 1. He was 76 and formerly lived in Medora. | Mr. Vaughn was born in Virginia and came to Indiana with his mother when| he was a small hoy. His father was killed in the Civil War. Mr. Vaughn spent most of his life in Washington - and Jackson - Counties and came to Indianapolis about a year ago to make his home. He was a member of the Baptist Church and, more lately, of the Holiness Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora E. Vaughn; a son, John W. Vaughn, Medora; three daughters, Mrs. Ann Herring, Mrs. Helen Cure and Miss Jessie Vaughn, all of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Anna Van Meter, and a brother, Henry Vaughn, Salem. Services will be at the Finn Funeral Home tomorrow, morning, with burial Saturday afternoon at Med-

Thompson, Indianapolis Mr. Thompson Cage Bird Club president, and E. B. Hudelson, superintendent. Mr. Thompson will .exhibit some of his Norwich and Yorkshire canaries, of which he is a leading breeder in this part of the country. Wife of Former Pastor of Presbyterian Church “Here Was 64.
Mrs. Lula Baker Dunkel, wife of Dr. J. Ambrose Dunkel, former pastor of the .Tabernacle Presbyterian Church here and present
pastor of the Napoleon, O., Presbyterian Church, died yesterday in her home, after an illness of nine months. Mrs. Dunkel had observed her 64th birthday anniversary Monday. She was born in Tiffin, O,, and attended grade and high school there. She also attended a girls’ school as Tiffin and met Dr. Dunkel while he was a theological student at Heidelberg College there. They had been married 40 years. Dr. and Mrs, Dunkel left Indianapolis for Napoleon Oct. 1, 1939. Mrs. Dunkel is survived by her husband; ‘two sons, Wilbur Dwight Dunkel, a professor at Rochester University, Rochester, N. Y. and Harold Baker Dunkel, a professor in the University of Chicago; two grandchildren, and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Friday in Napoleon and at
Tiffin.

She Was a member of the Asbury Memorial Church, the Modern Woodmen of America No. 8743, and the Mayflower Camp, Royal Neigh-

She is survived by her husband, Roy . Bly; her father, Wilbur Dale Jinnett; her grandfather, W. L. Jinnett; a sister, Mrs. Helen Geneva Geisendorff; a stepsister, Mrs, Josephine Nelson; and a stepbrother, Robert Dux, all of Indianapolis. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Friday in the home, Burial will be in Floral Park.

William R. Groce, 1214 Fletcher Ave, a night policeman for the Merchants National Bank, died yesterday in Methodist Hospital after an illness of three weeks. Mr. Groce was born in Alpany, Ky. He came to Indianapolis from Columbus, where he lived for 10 years. Funeral services were held yesterday in Lerna, Ill, for Miss Georgia Helen McDonald, "Tech High School teacher, who died there Monday. She was on leave of absence because tof illness and was making her home there. Miss McDonald was a member of Tech’s home economics department and had taught there ‘since 1919. She was an instructor in boys’ food classes and the table service course. She is survived by her mother, a sister, Miss Henrietta McDonald, and a brother. Elmer McDonald.
