Twelve of the world’s best-loved grand operas, each opera masterfully condensed on 3, 4 or 6 double-faced 12-inch records, will be made available to the public at the rate of an opera each week, for a period of twelve weeks. The records, made: by world-famous operatic artists and conductors, in the United States during May and June of 1940, are distributed ‘as part of an Impressive music appreciation movement,
World-famous operatic artists and conductors waived their royalties, receiving only a single recording fee. The small charge at which the public will secure these valuable opera recordings is explained by the spirit of public service which inspired world-famous operatic artists and conductors, America’s foremost music manufacturers, and the nation’s outstanding educators to unite their efforts in this his-tory-making movement in behalf of operatic music.

World-famous artists and conductors made these recordings in the United States in May and June of 1940. They were made specifically for this music appreciation movement in behalf of Grand Opera.
HOW TO GET
1. Come for, or send for, your operas-any time after Saturday, Oct. 19th, at the Distribution Headquarters which the Committee has established at 245 North Pennsylvania Street, which will be open each day from 9 a. m. to 6 p. m. 2. Each week one of the twelve operatic masterpieces will be released. The first opera, CARMEN, is being distributed beginning this Saturday, Octo-
ber 19th; AIDA will follow on October 26th; TANNHAUSER
“on November 2nd, etc., until all
of the operatic masterpieces provided have been made available to the public. Notice of each release date of each opera will be printed in the press, Requests by mail will be filled in order of receipts.
3. The 12 operas are distributed, one
“ each week, as units, not as single
records, except for purposes of replacing records accidentally broken, and the charge for a single record is 58 cents.
4. You obtain each opera which consists of either 3 or 4 double-faced 12-inch records for a total payment of $1.75.
YOUR OPERAS
You receive those of the 12 operas you desire with the understanding. that you are obtaining them for personal use, education or entertainment and not re-selling them at a profit. You are asked to sign a statement to this effect when you obtain each opera. Tristan and Isolde, on account of its length, is divided into 2 units, each unit consisting of 3 double-faced, 12inch records, each unit costing the same as any other three-
record group. De Luxe records, known as Philharmonic Tran-
scriptions, and enclosed in record albums designed individually for
each particular opera, are available.

5. An electric Record-Player attachment is available for those who require a means of playing records, at a cost of $4.75. It can be attached to the average radio and = plays records through the loudspeaker of the radio. It operates only on AC current.
For those who want a more eleborate Record-Player, a Symphonic De Luxe Model, enclosed in a walnut case, is available at a higher pirce. o
