The Improved Order of Red Men in the closing sessions of their 12th annual convention here yesterday adopted a resolution opposing entanglements for the United States. It proposed a more extensive program of patriotic training in public schools and the “stamping out” of all Communism on “our school ' campuses.” : At the election held at the Claypool Hotel yesterday Ed Lawson, " Dunkirk, was appointed great - sachem., Other officers include Thomas Crouch, Indianapolis, great senior sagamore; Willard M. Anderson, Martinsville, great junior sagamore; Edward C. Harding, Indianapolis, re-elected great chief of records; Al Frick, re-elected great keeper of wampum; A. C. Hauffman, a great trustee; Charles H. * Levi, Rushville, raised to great prophet.

DR, GEORGE BROTHER GETS HEALTH POST

Dr. George Brother, medical director of the district health board at Rising Sun, was named chief of the bureau of local health administration of the State Health Board today by Dr. John Ferree, board director, Dr. Brother will succeed Dr. Ferree, who was named head of the Health Board recently when Dr. Verne K. Harvey resigned to accept

a position with the Civil Service Commission in Washington. Dr.

Brother will assume his new duties |_

next Monday. Dr. Ferree announced that the Health Board will begin a survey tomorrow of the public health problems in the Charlestown and Union Center areas. The board will survey food establishments and study milk sanitation, housing and water supply within a 10-mile radius of the two cities, The survey is to be completed within a week. The information obtained will be turned over to state and Federal authorities who are working with the housing problems in the two towns.

CABLE SERVICE RESTORED

NEW YORK, Oct. 16 (U. P.).— .. Commercial Cables, one of the two principal cable services between London and New York, advised that - its service to London had been suspended after a 40-minute interruption. Western Union reported that it had been working normally.
