‘YOUNG AS YOU FEEL,’

CONFEDERATES SAY

WASHINGTON, Oct, 10 (U. P.) — “You're as young as you feel,” said

jone 94-year-old Confederate veteran

to another claiming to be 124 years

old. That was the keynote last night of the grand ball of the United Confederate Veterans meeting here for their 50th reunion. They swung their partners, did a bit of trucking 19th Century style and threw in a few jiggs and rebel yells for good measure, Today they will elect a new commander to succeed Gen. Julius Franklin Howell, 95. There was some talk of a second term for Gen. Howell, with references to current there were many of the that one term was enough for any man.

manifested years ago when he began gathering facts of Foster’s life and

a full-blown hobby. Then he set himself seriously to the task of collecting Foster's works and compiling a bibliography. He enlisted the aid of relatives of the composer, librarians, musicians and dealers, ind his own staff of research workers. After he had assembled and catalogued a comprehensive collection, a small granite building was erected on the outskirts of the city to house it. This is known as Foster Hall.

Concert Stars Coming Practically all of this collection is now in that and other permanent Foster memorials. Included in the items, of which there are more than 10,000, are first editions, original manuscripts and letters, books, pictures and magazine articles. Among the noted guests at the banquet, which is sponsored by the Indiana Chapter of the National Committee for Music Appreciation, will be Reinald Werrenrath, baritone, and Miss Frieda Hempel, soprano. . : Fabien Sevitzky, director and conductor of the Indianapolis Sym-
