Funeral ee for Parson B. Chambers, train caller and gateman at the Union Station for 25 years. will be at 2 p. m. tomorrow in the Conkle Funeral Home and burial will be in Washington Park Cemetery. # Mr. Chambers died Monday night at his home; 2109 W. Walnut St. He was 77 was born in Boone County and had been a resident ot Indianapolis for 30 years. He was a member of the West Michigan Street Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dicey Chambers; a son, Noel B. Chambers; a d ughter, Mrs. Audrey Steinbach, and five grandchildren:

John Joseph Wilhelm

Six-year-old |John Joseph WilSor collapsed yesterday while playing near his home, 5117 E. Washington St), and died & few moments later. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Wilhelm. Dr. E. R. Wilson, deputy coroner, said death was ‘due to heart disease. The child was a pupil of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, He is survived by his parents: three brothers, Fran¢is A. Wilhelm Jr, James Michael] Wilhelm, and Lawrence Anthony Wilhelm; and a Sister, Mary Si Wilhelm.

GROCER, DEAD AT 75

, 1602 Ringgold Ave. an Indianapolis resident for a half century who died Monday night in the Methodist Hospital, will be buried in St. Joseph’s Cemetery following funeral services at 9 a. m. Friday in St. Patrick's Church. Mr. Hansen was 75. He came to Indianapolis from Denmark and was a grocer here for 35 years, the last 25 at the Ringgold Ave. address. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. IIe is survived by his wife, Mus. Hansen, a niece and (hree nephews.

CITY GIRL CONFESSED

WAUKESHA, Wis., Oct. 2 (U. P.). —District Attorney. Scott Lowry said today that Donald Gersonde, 17, Wauwatosa High School cheer leader, had confessed he shot and critically wounded Betty Bossingham, 18, of Indianapolis, after their elopement plans fell through. The shooting occurred last Sunday afternoon, Mr. Lowry said the youth told him. They first reported the shooting was accidental. - Gersonde was held without charge pending outcome of the girl's wounds. She was reported in critical condition at County General Hospital from wounds in the right arm and chest. Mr. Lowry said Gersonde told him

Monkeys Flee Auburn Cage

AUBURN, Ind. Oct. 2. (U. P.). —Maggie and Jiggs, an enterprising pair of monkeys, played Tarzan and Mate in the tree-tops of Auburn today while Owner Victor Thomas schemed how to lure them back to their cage. The monkeys escaped yesterday, and spent .most of the day picking apples for Auburn housewives, and then throwing the fruit at anyone who came near. Movie comedian Joe E. Brown stopped at the Municipal Airport long enough today to compare notes with Col. Roscoe Turner on their respective auto accident injuries. Both were hurt in recent mishaps, Joe’s car went over a 30-foot embankment and Col.- Turner’s was in a collision on the South Side. The comedian, - who also said hello to Airport Manager I. J. Diénhart, was on his way to the World Series in Cincinnati.

DRAFT LENIENCY ON MARRIED MEN URGED

WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 (U. PJ). —Conscription regulations for determining who will be drafted into the Army and who will stay home were reported today to be very liberal about exemptions for married men. - The regulations will be the vais for rulings by local draft boards. A final draft of them is being studied by the Justice Department. Lieut. Col. Victor J.
