Group to Buy Seeing-Eye Dog
The first of a series of card parties and entertainments in al fund raising project will be sponsored by the Independent Social Club from 2 to 5 p. m. tomorrow at the home of Mrs. J. T. Bridge Will Benefit Health Center
The Indianapolis Alumnae Association of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority will have its annual benefit bridge and fashion show at Ayres’ auditorium at 2 p. m. Saturday. The proceeds of the party will help make up the chapter's contribution to a national fund which supports Health Center, a social service center in the mountains near Marion, Virginia. This project, begun in honor of the founding of the sorority over 40 years ago at Farmville, Va., serves as a health and educational center for the mountaineers who live in the region. Two -new series of fall lectures have been announced by the Indiana University Extension Division, 122 E. Michigan St. The first lecture in “A Century of Change: Recent Trends in Social Science” will be given tomorrow by Dr. James E. Moffat, professor of economics at Indiana University. He will speak on “Economic Theory in a Century of Change” with the lecture scheduled for 8:10 p. m. in Room 301 of the Plaza Building, 635 N. Pennsylvania St. Dr. Harry Howard, professor of history at Miami University, will open the series on “The World Situation” tomorrow with a talk on “Russia and the World Situation Today.” The lectures will be given from 8:10 to 9:30 p, m. each Thursday evening through Nov. 14 in the Plaza Building. No university credit is granted for the series. . The complete list of lectures each Monday evening on “A Century of Change” will be given by Indiana University professors. State Session Of Pythian Sisters Opens
The Indiana Pythian Sisters are holding their annual state Grand
Temple session today and tomorrow at the Hotel Lincoln. Mrs. Cecelia Lee of Rockville, the incoming grand chief, will be installed tomorrow afternoon with other state officers. . Mrs. Nina Mills, Marion, present grand chief, is presiding at all ses= sions. The first- business sesssion was held this morning at 9 o'clock in the Indiana Pythian Auditorium, followed by the conferring of the Grand Temple Degree. Mrs. Estella Whitton was in charge of the annual breakfast for past district deputies. The Pythian Banquet will be sérved in the Travertine Room at the Hotel Lincoln tonight at 6:30 o'clock.
