piled all the authentic native chants in the picture, The short, coal-black African has brought the actual jungle drum music to the films instead of the carelessly assembled imitations previously used. When the Prince Modupe and his troupe of drum-beating, chanting Africans came to the Philharmonic Auditorium in Los Angeles, movie executives noted the tremendous effectiveness of real jungle music. As a result, the prince was hired as a technical adviser for the film “Green. Pastures.” The prince was educated in London as a concert singer and has traveled all over the world with the idea of eventually returning to his native Nigeria to become a teacher, lecturer and witch doctor. The lat-

Modupe had charge of African exhibits at the Chicago Century of -» Progress, and has lectured at many universities. Prince Modupe still. has his own troupe of African drummers, chanters and dancers who frequently apin pictures.
