Indiana college football coaches —at least those whose teams played |last Saturday—should have a good | idea today on what to practice this | week. Saturday's games revealed a dearth of scoring punch. Outside of the Butler-St. Joe game, only 16 points were scored by the five state teams in action and all these came in the Rose Poly-Wabash game which the former won, 9-7. Poly scored with an automatic safety when Wabash fumbled behind the goal line. A few minutes later, Gray of Wabash went offtackle for 70 yards and a touchdown. Late in the game Wabash fumbled again and Poly recovered on the Wabash seven. A pass over the goal won the game. Indiana State played a scoreless tie with Louisville at the latter's home field. Both teams had opportunities to score, but lacked the necessary punch. Another scoreless tie was played at Oxford, O. where Ball State Teachers College tangled with the Miami Redskins. Neither team was able to do much in the 96-degree temperature that necessitated many substitutions. Hanover College lost to the University of Cincinnati by a score of [45 to ¢ at the Ohio team's stadium. Hanover scored only three first ‘downs to their F-onponersis 2 22. |

Mallory because of darkness. At the time the score was tied, 3-3, and Mallory had runners on first and third. The umpires walked away without making a decision. Then yesterday afternoon at the same diamond, the Baird .team, which already has lost one game in this two-and-out series, handed Mallory its first defeat in title play, 6-5.
