The lines include a low-priced De-|
Luxe Torpedo; a Streamliner Torpedo and a Custom Torpedo. They replace shorter-wheelbased Special and DeLuxe Sixes, and the DeLuxe and Torpedo Eights of "40, All the 1941 models are available with six or eight cylinder engines. Radiators, hoods, fenders, and other sheet metal parts and Fisher bodies have been restyled to emphasize the Torpedo design. Chromium adds highlights from radiator to rear bumper. Wide, massive,| horizontal chrome radiator grills extend from headlamp to headlamp, join with fenders, bumpers and hood giving the impression of power. Heavy duty bumpers are built into the body Bumper guards are spaced to for m a natural built-in oblong for the front license plate. New parking lamps fit into horizontal spaces between the broad radiator grilles. A new method of mounting the 1941 bodies to the chassis makes it possible to lower the front and rear door sills without sacrificing road clearance . The DeLuxe and Streamliner Torpedo models have individual door steps completely concealed bv a flare in the lower edge of the door Running hoards are eliminated New driver's seat features include an instrument panel light controlled by a switch at the right of the speedometer, the safety hood lock which operates from a control just below the instrument panel the left of the steering column, and a rolled lower edge on the dash. An important new safety feature is the automatic interior light When either front door is opened, a switch turns on the dome light.

KANSAS CITY. Mo 13 (UO P) —Any douht the members of the Women for Willkie Club had shou! the Republicanism of William Allen White, Emporia editor, was cleared up today bv the letter he sent Margaret C. Mehornav when she inquired where he stood. Mr. White said that he was surprised that merely because he was chairman of a mitee interested in aiding Grea’ Britain, and as such had praised President Roosevelt's foreign policy that his politics should be questioned. “Of course T am his candidacy for a third term.” he wrote. “I am supporting Wendell Willkie with all my heart, but T respect President Roosevelt personally, and 1 know that as an American citizen, even though T differ with him, that he is intelligent and courageous.”
