The 10th Cathedral teacher to bs assigned to teaching duties in India he will leave Indianapolis Sunday to visit at Notre Dame. With one other brother and five priests, he will sail from San Francisco, Nov, 1. The group will arrive at Dacca India, late in December and will receive assignments from the Most Rev. Timothy Crowley, Bishop of Dacca. Brother James expects to teach in the high school at Dacca, the high school at Bandura or the new one being founded in the Garo Hills.

Coast in Shifting Course

MIAMI, Fla, Sept. 13 (U. P.).—)

A hurricane passing near the Bahama fslands today gave indications of shifting from a northwest course to a northward path, which would reduce its threat to the Bahamas and to the United States coastline, The Federal Hurricane Warning Svstem placed the storm's center 150 to 200 miles north of Turks Island, southeasternmost of the Bahama group. The hurricane was moving northwestward 14 to 16 miles an hour but, the Warning System added, there are “indications of recurving northward.” Caution was

REVEALS SUSPECT TRIED TO FLEE JAIL

FT. WAYNE, Ind, Sept. 13 (U P.) .—Sheriff Walter A. Felger toda: revealed that Anson Hafer, 28, being held for trial on a charge of murder, attempted to escape from the county jail recently.

The sheriff said that while confined to the jail's hospital ward. Hafer broke a piece of metal from his bed, and after scraping it sharp on the econcrete floor, tried to pry the lock from the door.
