Miss Mary Ellen Wheeler to Be Wed To Robert Sorenson This Afternoon
Miss Mary Ellen Wheeler, daughter of P. M. Wheeler, Monticello, I1l., will become the bride of Robert Sorenson of New York, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Sorenson, of Indianapolis, at the Indianapolis Athletic Club at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon. The ceremony will be performed by Dr. John FE, Edwards, pastor of the Broadway Methodist Church, before an improvised altar banked with fall flowers and greenery, Tall white tapers in two seven-branch candelabra will light the scene,
Miss Mary Catherine Stair, harpist, will play Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity songs preceding the ceremony and at the reception to follow. During the ceremony she will play a program of bridal airs. The bride will wear a street-length dress of aqua wool crepe with brown velvet trim. The dress will have a notched collar of brown velvet and the bracelet-length sleeves will be edged with the same material. The dress will be fashioned with front fullness and she will wear a brown velvet pompadour hat. Her flowers will be a spray of brown orchids.
Couple to Leave for Motor Trip Mrs. Shelton Downey, of Monticello, Ill, will be her sister's only attendant. She will be gowned in a dress fashioned like that of the bride in gold wool crepe with brown velvet trim. Her flowers will be Talisman roses and bronze chrysanthemums, She also will wear a brown velvet pompadour hat. John Thurston, a fraternity brother of the bridegroom, will be best man. The couple will leave immediately after the reception for a motor trip through New England and Canada. They will be at home Sept. 3 at 116 Park Lane South, Kew Gardens, Long Island, N. Y. For traveling the bride will wear a navy blue jacket dress accented with white and navy accessories. Her corsage will be of orchids,

The bride is a graduate of Butler University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. The bridegroom is also a graduate of Butler University and attgnded Northwestern University, He is a member of Phi Delta Theta and Blue Key Fraternities. Among out-of-town guests who will attend the wedding will be Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler and their son, Lewis, Monticello; Mr. Downey and his son Jerry, Monticello, Ill; Mr. and Mrs, Ralph Sorenson, Evanston, and William Thomas, Kansas City.
