N.Y. Books Piano Fete
Local Festival Will Be Given At Fair Sept. 23.
The 125-Piano Festival ag originallv produced in Indianapolis, will be presented in the Music Hall of the New York World's Fair on the afternoon and evening of Sept, 23 Frank O. Wilking, president of the Wilking Piano Co. will direct the performance Mr. Wilkking founded the piano festival here and directed three of them at the Butler Fieldhouse. He also conducted two similar festivals atl the Coliseum in Detroit, “The piano festival with its many advantages for the young pianist and the spectacular manner in which it is presented has attracted world-wide attention, and the invitation from the New York World: Fair is in recognition of the interest shown in this performance,” the director said Mr, Wilkking and M. M. Miller, festival manager, are to leave fo New York early next month to complete rehearsal of the 1000 players who will participate in the World's Fair performance.
