Ellamae Williams, Illinois state champion from Chicago, and Mrs. Dan Chandler. Dallas, Tex. posted 82's, four strokes off the pace. v | Miss Hicks scored 38, even par, [on the outside nine, but hit a flock lof traps on the inside and lost two strokes to par for a 40. She picked up a birdie three on the 14th hole after she had given a stroke to par on three holes in a row beginning with the 11th. Her long drives gave her an advantage over the lengthy layout.
