KANSAS CITY, Mo, July 20— Indianapolis’ dazed Indians are losing 'em in pairs nowadays and are obtaining a firm hold on the American Association cellar | Their record during the current swing through the West reads two games won and eight lost, including three double-header defeats. One game remains to be played on this Western trip before the Redskins depart for Louisville to battle the Colonels Wednesday and Thursday. Tomorrow is an off-day for the Tribesters and they probably will spend it in thinking of “what might have been.” However, before getting a vacation, the Indians were scheduled to ackle the league-leading Blues this afternoon in a single tilt at Ruppert Stadium.

Blues Stretch Lead

The Blues thumped the Hoosiers | twice yesterday, 9 to 8, in 12 innings, and 8 to 5, in the seven-inning nighteap. Kansas City has now won eight straight and is seven games ahead of second-place Minneapolis, proving that if the Blues are to be overtaken they will have to be halted by a plague If Hoosier fans desire to have a good ery, they are advised to peep at the league standing which shows | the tail-end Indians 25's games behind the team they are now plaving In Milwaukee Saturday, the Brew- | ers beat the Redskins, 3 to 0 and 4 to 3. Bob liogan was the Tribe pitcher in the first tilt and Pete Sivess, Jimmy Sharp and Don French In the second. In yesterday's struggles here, Red Barrett and French toiled in the 12-inning affair and Earl Caldwell and Sharp in the windup. French | relieved Barrett in the 10th and Sharp relieved Caldwell in the sixth

Overtaken in Ninth

The Indians held a lead of Tto 5 after batting in the ninth only to falter and the Blues tallied twice in their half and deadlocked the score In the 12th the Redskins stepped out and made it 8 to but the league leaders were hot to be denied and chalked two markers in their half and copped the laurels In the second fracas the count was 3 to 2 at the end of the third but the Blues hurriedly broke the deadlock in the fourth by scoring a pair of runs. They made it 8 to 3 in the sixth The seventh and last frame saw the Tribesters make a courageous try but a rally fell one marker short of a tie and the Riues triumphed again in spite of the fact they made five errors Lone home run of the day was a smash by Walter Rerger of the Tribe in the first tilt. Bob Pritchard, the Tribes new first sacker, made his debut in Milwaukee Saturday and played in both games here vesterdav |

Minneapolis today found itself

seven games behind the American Association leading Kansas City Blues and part of that distance the Millers can blame on the jinx that invariably hits when the going is hardest. Columbus, for instance, took the Millers, 12 to §, yesterday, in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader. Rain delayed the second game and it had to be called in the third because of the 6 o'clock Sunday law. The Millers were leading 4 to 0, but only the first game went on the books. To add to Minneapolis’ gloom, Coaker Triplett, a former Miller, hit a triple and two singles that drove in half of the Birds’ runs. In another double<header, louis ville tripped up Milwaukee, 5 to 4 and 7 to 6. The hitting was even! in the first game-—each club got 11 nt the Colonels came from bee
