PACKARD GIVES PLANE MOTORS " FURTHER STUDY

Directors Fail to Approve Plan to Build 9000 for U. S. and Britain.

DETROIT, July 9 (U. P.).—The| Government's plan to have the Packard Motor Car Co. build 9000 | Rolls Royce airplane engines—3000| for this country and 6000 for Great | Britain—was delayed indefinitely | today by the Packard directors’ de-| KS 3 3 : cision to give it “further study. | 3 3 . | After Henry Ford had refused the | contract because of his aversion to] building war materials for a foreign | country, it was offered to Packard | by William S.
