The Herods said it was fascinating to hear a personal, first-hand account ot the taking over of the little country. One morning about seven o'clock she was lving in bed, their friend told them. when she heard a terrible noise. She looked out to see several hundred planes flying overhead. That was all there was to 1t About half an hour later the streets were full of German troops. In leaving Denmark she caught the last ferry that ran between Copenhagen and Germany and finally made her wav to Italy to sail for the United States “It was an interesting evening.” Mrs. Herod said, "and even though sh was somewhat reticent—her husband is still over there--she presented a gloomy picture. Riding Club will hold its fourth biennial sweep= stakes and Field Meet this aftere noon at the Club, 3050 Kessler Blvd. The event is open to the public without charge Frank Samuel general chairman of the event Fred E.
