The 1940 Indiana State Fair, one -of Hoosierdom’s most spectacular shows will be held from Aug. 30 to Sept. 6 at the State Fair Grounds. Its building program finished, the Fair Grounds now rank among the largest in the nation, according to P. L. White of Oxford, Ind., Indiana Agriculture Board president. Dedication [of the new $1,000,000 Coliseum will be held Sept. 1. Paul ‘Whiteman and his band will play for the ceremonies. The band will be one of the attractions of the horse show In the evenings.

Tickets on Sale July 15

Fair Grounds Manager Harry G. Templeton urged Hoosiers to make early arrangements to attend the Fair through their local agricultural clubs or county agent. The Agriculture Board has set July 15 for the release of 225,000 half-price tickets. The sale will continue until Aug. 29. While many organizations have sought to place their orders already, no money will be accepted until July 15, Fain officials said. One of the Fair’s major attractions will be a $60,000 racing program, which officials predicted would draw| the Grand Circuit's best pacers and trotters.
