Regular Camp Opens June 30

The established summer camping season at the Girl Scout Camp Dellwood has been set for June 30 but already many Marion County and Indianapolis Girl Scouts are out at the camp near Clermont. They are participating in the troop camping program which annually precedes the established camp and will be resumed after the established period closes on Aug. 10. The troop camping serves as an introduction to camping for Scouts who have never camped before and supplies camp experience for those who can not take advantage of the established period. This pre-camp program is being carried out for the fourth year. Troops camp as independent groups, do their own marketing, plan their own menus and do their own cooking under the direction of troop leaders, assistants and adult committee members. Generally each troop sponsors a money making project to earn at least a part of the funds for their troop camp equipment and supplies.
