CITY TO STRIKE AT SIGN HAZARD

New Ordinance Is In Preparation.

An ordinance which would give the Police and Building Departments authority to remove signs interfering with traffic signals is in

disclosed today.

Building | Commissioner George R. Popp Jr. in an address yesterday before the 25th anpual meeting of the Building Officials’ Conference of America, Inc, at St. Louis, Mo. Mr. Popp informed the conference that Indianapolis officials are seeking the legislation to remove signs which become traffic hazards when théy obscure signals or police warning signs. ‘The Indianapolis building commissioner attended the conference

with about 200 biulding ‘officials from the United States and Canada.
