Tudor Hall Awards Announced

© The Misses Virginia Binford, Mildred Milliken, Emmy Pantzer and E. Letitia Sinclair have been awarded Tudor Hall Shields given annually to seniors “whose leadership in the school has been most valudble and inspiring.” The awards were among several announced recently for senior students at Tudor Hall. Susannah Milner Gets Masquers Trophy

The Masquers Trophy #for outstanding work in dramatics has jpese awarded to Miss Milner, the Masquers Club president. Miss ginia Binford received honorable mention for this award. The Green and White Sports Cup was won this year by the White team, headed by Miss Hillis. The senior class won the Miss Pantzer and Miss Milliken were given the silver cup for winning the class doubles tennis tournament. A silver tennis ball was the prize of Miss Binford, who won the tennis singles tournament. School blazers for outstanding athletic ability and good sportsmanship were given the Misses Binford, Hillis, Millikén, Pantzer, Martha Rupel and Sinclair, ' Miss Julia Jane Carman, a sophomore, won first place for her poem, “Early Dusk” in the Chronicle prose and poetry contest. Indiana Federation of Clubs Begins Three-Day Convention Today at Lake Wawasee

Legion Auxiliary Has Record Membership

The American Legion Auxiliary has the largest enrollment in its history, 482,688 women, the Legion headquarters here announced today. The 1940 total is expected to 1each 500,000 before the end of the year. Thirty-three of the auxiliary’s 52 departments have exceeded their 1940 membership goals, the announcement said. The membership gain over the same date last year is 22,428. ;
