Miss Anna Louise Brewer of Ben Davis High School ‘is district demonstration champion and Miss Gertrude Ramey of Ben Davis is district baking judging champion. Miss Virginia Armstrong of Shortridge High School is county health champion and will compete in the state contest .because there was no disfrict health contest.

. County health champion among the boys is Richard Lipberger of New Augusta. The three highestplacing weed-identification Engfest boys of the county are being taken to Lafayette because the county champion, Herbert Wachstetter of Warren Central High School, was “| last year’s state champion and there is some doubt as to whether he will be permitted to take part in this year's contest. In each of the boys’: district contests except grain judging, a Mar: fon County team placed. Wayne Grady and Harold Kinsey, both of Acton, are the district demonstra+ tion champions. The county’s livestock judging team is composed of Herbert Camp-+ bell, Bridgeport; Joseph Reynolds, Camby rural route 1; Herman Schackel, Acton, and Richard Lindstaedt, Indianapolis route 11, box 304. The poultry and egg judging teams from Marion County won first and second place in the district contest. One team is composed of Charles Jack, New Augusta; Samuel Kissell, Route 17, Box 409; Dallas Reed, New Augusta, and Frederick Rosemeyer, Route 19] Members of the second team are Charles Miller, Route 7; George Skinner, 812 Gerard Drive; Robert Lollar, Camby route 1, and James Brown, Route 10. The dairy judging team from the county will be Herschel Lowes, Ac~ ton; William Maines, New Augusta, Box 116; Robert Smith, Acton, and ' Charles Cock, Route 1, Box 577. tionally took an overdose of sleeping powders Sunday and died. Police

sent his body to the morgue and began a customary check of his fingerprints. Today they discovered | that George Hobart was actually Harry Wisherd, an international bunko artist said to have made and spent more than $2,000,000 in his long career. Records as far 7 back as 1902 showed arrests for larceny, wire ta ping, using the mails to defraud and card sharping. He was known [to have gambled as mueh as $30,000 on the turn of a card.

LONDON, May 31 (U.P).—Alleged assertions that Sir Oswald Mosley, British Fascist, has cooperated with Adolf Hitler and that Germany plans a parachute invasion of Britain about June 9 were aired in court at Portsmouth today when a woman and two men were arraigned under the official secrets provisions of the defense act. | The assertions were attributed to Mrs. Marie Louisa Augusta Ingram, 42, defendant who was identified as the sister-in-law of a staff officer on the German High Command. The men, alleged to have co-op-erated with her, were William Swift, 57, naval employee, and! Archibald Wats, 40, unemployed. '

Dewey, candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, said today that President Roosevelt “is to be congratulated” for makin the Civilian National Defense Commission directly responsiblt to him and not “subordinate to the New Deal Cabinet.” Mr. Dewey said it was “progress

VanArsdel, native of Indiana and a graduate of Purdue University, has been appointed chief engineer of the U. S. Agriculture Department’s Western Research Laboratory at Albany, Cal, it was announced here today. - Aftet graduation from Purdue, Mr. VanArsdel was research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and for many years did research work for manufacturing firms. In 1937 he was employed by the Agriculture Department to assist in planning the Government’s research laboratories.

The victims, Miss Mildred Gillespie, 2239 College Ave., and Miss Hortense Henderson, 1450 College Ave. were first taken to the home of Eleanor Bohn, 4151 College Ave., shop manager, and then sent by police to St. Vincent’s Hospital. Their conditions were reported as fair.
